“Every time they share their new knowledge learning in Dharti Mata, I always feel envy!”
Amrita, who is 34 years old, came to this village after marriage and had been helping in the Women Group for a long time. That was why Mithu took a liking to her then and invited her to work in Dharti Mata. However, at first, because all the villagers were hesitating and wondering how long Dharti Mata can last, her family disagreed with it. As time going on, while Dharti Mata growing bigger and becoming quite successful, the villagers found that actually Dharti Mata is reliable and trustworthy. At the same time, every time the women who had already worked in Dharti Mata shared their new knowledge, Amrita, who loved learning new things, always felt envy! As a result, she finally decided to join the group three years ago.
It takes some time to change it.
In these three years, Amrita was glad that she not only learned how to make cloth pads but also the more complicated ones, carry bags and even taught in the workshops for several times. As the anticipation toward Dharti Mata and the message she wanted to send to the consumers, she found that foreigners who are already getting used to using cloth pads due to the rising eco-friendly concept, while for Nepali who think sanitary pads are more convenient, it takes some time to change it. She hopes that as Dharti Mata grows bigger and bigger, more and more locals can start using cloth pads!
